Sept 18, Moto Ride from Ronald, Wa

Got back to our favorite riding location for some dusty but fun motorcycle riding.

August 20, Moto

Finally got Scott back out on his motorcycle.  First real ride since he blew his ACL riding on a motocross track.  We kept the day fairly mellow and headed over to Lost Lake and Scott pointed out ski lines from back in the day, when he was working with Cascade Powder Cats.  Roads were nicely graded, and will be better with a little more moisture.

April 8, Moto Mattawa

Dragged Scott and Vic down to the Columbia river, where we rode the singletrack trails outside the town of Mattawa.  Temperatures were in the high seventies, and the trails were quite dry, and pretty sandy in some spots.  Riding was pretty technical and kept us on our toes.  Everyone had a good time, but my riding partners were grumping about the two hour drive to the trailhead.  Hopefully, with the snow melting out, our next ride will be closer to home.

No I am not getting fat, it's called a chest protector.

Oct 30/31 Dirt Riding in the Teanaway

Couldn't get my ride buddies lined up for the same day, so ended up riding two days in a row, over the Teanaway Valley.  Can't complain.

August 29, Miller Peak

As usual, great ride.

August 27, Moto the Middle Fork

Went creeking on the Middle Fork of the Teanaway with Vic.  Unfortunately the first creek flooded Vic's bike and it sputtered most of the rest of the day.  After about 8 crossings and lots of brush we gave up and turned around.

July 24, Taneum Motorcycle Ride

Hooked up with Vic and got beat up in the whoops and  roots of the Taneum trail system.

June 20, Tronsen Ridge to Devil's Gulch

Got out on the dirt bike for a 53 mile ride.  Tight singletrack.

Scott Sumner

Nice trail.

August 20, Blowout Mt. trail

This trip report is a little old, but my blog has been pretty non-active.  Since Colorado we have been staying close to home and enjoying the recreation opportunities in our backyard, Snoqualmie Pass.  We have been busy brushing out the trail network, and are even working on a couple of new trails. In August, I rode from the house towards Easton and hit Blowout Mt. trail a couple of times.   This trail is tough enough that is stays very skinny.  Views were gorgeous, unfortunately Mt. Rainier did not come out in this photo.   The first trip I  got stopped by a down log.  The second trip I managed a 90 mile loop, including Manastash Ridge trails and exiting the Taneum area via.1321 (North Ridge Trail).  Unfortunately 1321 has been heavily logged and is really not enjoyable.   Overall a great ride.   Next time I would exit via 1326 ( Cle Elum Ridge tr.  ) to Woods and Steel Rd..

March 17-18, Poker Run - Vantage, Wa.

Hooked up with my almost neighbor Scott and his buddy Jason for a little break from the snow.  Two days of riding along the Columbia river near Vantage.  Weather was perfect and it was nice to work some different muscles.  Event was a poker ride put on by Fringe mc club and the NWMA.  Scott managed to get the winning poker hand.  Jason took home a trophy for second place in the endurocross event.

Nov 11, Moto - Sasse Ridge Trail

Scott with Cle Elum Lake below
Hooked up with Scott for what looks to be the last motorcycle ride of the year, in the Cle Elum area.  Despite temperatures  just above freezing, the trail was in great shape.  The snow was falling by the time I reached home.  Hopefully ski season is starting next week.

Nov. 1, Taneum Motorcycle Loop

Got out with Eric, Mike Reimer, Matt Karaus and young guy Ben.  I think Ben was only 28, which had to be the reason he was so much faster on his Honda CRF 250.   Rode up Woods n Steel, East on Cle Elum Ridge Trail to catch N. Fork Teanaway trail from the bottom, all the way up past the Taneum Shelter to Windy Pass and back on the ridge trail.  I managed to pinch flat my front tire, right before windy pass.  I was planning to ride home with a flat front tire, but luckily Eric had all the tools, including a spare front tire and air cartridges to inflate it.  Our Pit crew managed to change out the flat in under 20 minutes.  Sure made the ride home a lot more fun!  Thanks Eric.

October 7, Miller Peak Time

Hooked up with my soon-to-be neighbor Scott Sumner, for a motorcycle ride up and around Miller Peak.   Trail was in perfect condition, with even a little fresh snow on the sides, as we neared the summit.  This is a classic ride, and was glad to get it in before hunting season starts full swing, and the snow really flies.

June 23, Taneum

Took the green dot roads over to Taneum and enjoyed the entire area, by ourselves, as the main access road was washed out this spring.  Pushed Francine's limit on some of the rugged singletrack.

Francine rides through a meadow.

Oct 22, Taneum Dirt biking

Hooked up with Eric for a little Taneum adventure.  Found a couple of trails that I may not need to repeat.  From Cle Elum took Northridge trail (steep, rooty) to Manatash Ridge(lots of fun) to Blowout Mt. trail then down Goat Peak trail.  Of course after walking our bikes around the switchbacks on Goat Peak trail and Eric losing his bike over the edge we decided to cut out on a private road.  When we got to the gate (with new barbwire) we opted to slide out bikes under the gate, rather than continue down the black diamond trail.  Full day adventure!  Racked up 65 miles including some road time.

Eric, after that rock, in the foreground, popped his bike off the trail

Sept. 10, Miller Time Again

Miller was so good last week, that I hooked up with Eric Smith and did it again!

Sept. 4, Miller Peak

Hooked up with my neighbor Matt Karaus, and got off the pass for a ride.  Seems like every time this summer that I went riding with Matt it seemed to rain.   Well me made up for all the rain today!  Drove past Liberty on Blewitt/97 highway and unloaded the bikes for 32 miles of excellent riding.  Took Teanaway Ridge trail to Iron Bear, to Miller Peak trail, and then back down County Line making a lollipop loop.

Steep switchbacks and excellent scenery on the way to the top of Miller Peak
