Ready for sunnier weather, we packed the car and headed south to California! Our friends, the Heckers had been visiting their daughter in Redding for the last eight years or so, and keep telling us how nice the mountain biking is in the spring. This year we finally are going to check out their favorite trails in Redding.

We took the leisure drive and spent the first night in Bend, Or.. We tried to get in a quick ride, but a hail storm forced us to retreat to happy hour at the hotel bar. The next morning we got an early start and made the drive down 97 to California.
