Woke up to ten inches of new snow in the driveway. The plan was to drive to Wenatchee and ride Sage Hills. The hills above Wenatchee are closed each winter until April 1, to provide grazing land for the mule deer that are forced down from higher elevations by the winter snow. I must have had a good winter, due to the fact that I had no problem passing on ten inches of powder. We drove down out of the snow zone to Sage Hills and were happy that there was no snow. Trails in the lower area were actually a little dry. In the upper areas we did resort to walking certain sections of trail to avoid doing trail damage in the soft clay like dirt. Luckily we were able to make it to the top of Lightning trail and make a good loop. Excellent day in the saddle.
