July 20 Friday - The Queen Tour

Another amazing ride.  We actually rode some easier trails today.   Everything is gorgeous, hikers are everywhere, lifts are everywhere, and green valleys are everywhere.

We finally got to use the gondola across the street from Hotel Linder, that we have been eyeing everyday out our window, Ciampinoi.  Instead of starting the day with a steep climb, we rolled across the street to the gondola.

After descending on a gravel road, we rode a trail that was in the Enduro Race at the beginning of June.  After a steep short climb, we rolled on nice cross country type trail.  At the end, Ricardo said, "I'd like more of that".  I was thinking the same thing.

Again, we rode down into completely separate valleys, towns/ski areas.  There are ski lifts everywhere, thought, not all open in summer.  The hotel planned the huge bike tours to basically encompass different areas, so we got to see an enormous part of the Val Gardena area and mountains.  I don't know how we would ever be able to repeat or put together the routes, which varied from 35 to 60 kilometers long.
